Rodent Realty was founded in 2005 by Bupkes, a hamster. It was inherited by Pestis from her husband's aunt, Yersinia Pestis, a great-granddaughter of the founder. In these hard economic times, Pestis believes that she must intensify her efforts to promote the business. It is her intention to have affordable listings available in the 48 continental states. At present, RodentRealty.com has properties for sale in thirty-two states and the District of Columbia. RodentRealty homes are affordable for several reasons. First of all, they're places that people usually don't want to buy. We sell the architectural wreckage that's accumulated over generations and barter it for simple hamster food. In other words, we give permission to take possession of properties in exchange for tasty, edible goods such as raw peanuts in the shell, sunflower seeds, bananas, cucumbers, fortune cookies, yogurt drops, and broccoli. All properties listed can be bought for no money down and no monthly payments - indeed, no money at all. Offers that have been accepted in the past include a banana for a condo in Virginia, a cucumber for a five-bedroom home in South Carolina, thirty sunflower seeds for a shack in New Mexico, and nine soy beans for a trailer in California. Second, buyers do not get titles or deeds to the properties they buy. We operate on the long-held hamster principle that if a cage (or home) is vacant, it is only fair that the one without a cage should be allowed to occupy the unneeded one for as long as he or she likes.
